MALCOLM ASHTON CRICKET AFTER DINNER SPEAKER IN THE NORTH

From Bury in Lancashire, Malcolm worked as a scorer/statistician on Radio 2 and Test Match Special.

He spent 12 years with BBC TV and Channel 4 until he became scorer and utility man for the touring England Cricket Team in 1995-6 and full time Team Analyst from 2000 to the present day.

A keen sense of humour is Malcolm’s hallmark as he recounts life in the Test Match Special Box, various TV commentary boxes and explores life with the Players on tour and at home.

Having been involved in over 150 Test matches and 200 One Day Internationals and 10 years of touring, Malcolm has a fund of stories to call upon.

It’s a fascinating insight into an England cricket team that is proving itself one to be reckoned with in world cricket.

Malcolm has been in over 40 amateur dramatic productions and has won the Greater Manchester Drama Federation “Best Actor” award as well as appearing in a couple of episodes of “Brookside” and “Waterfront Beat”.
